Welcome to the website for the Big Wyoming Appaloosa Horse Club. Our mission is to promote the Appaloosa horse in Wyoming and in the surrounding states. We hold an annual show every year in August. At our annual banquet we voted to keep the show in Torrington, WY at the Goshen County Fairgrounds. Our show features cattle classes as well as the more traditional classes including halter, western, english, trail, jumping, games, and heritage. We also offer Foundation Appaloosa halter classes as well as weanling futurity and yearling jackpot classes. We are going to be looking at doing a jackpot team roping on Friday afternoon before our weekend show on August 9-10, 2008.

We are always looking for new members as well as new ideas to help this club become more than just a club that holds one yearly show. This year we are also looking at partnering with M&K Saddle and Tack of Torrington, Wy to help host a St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital trail ride. Plans for this ride will be posted on the website as we get more details put together.

We also partner with our Colorado Club, Mountains and Plains to help sponsor booths for both the Stock Show and the Colorado Horse Expo.

Newsflash: We have reduced our Flat Fees and our Youth Fees for the 2008 show.
Open & Non Pro - Flat Fee - $150 + National Point Fees - One Horse / Unlimited Riders
$10 per Judge + National Point Fees ($40 per class +$8 National Point Fee)
This fee does not include cattle, stalls, jump or office fees.

Youth - $5 per class and $10 per open class if the youth shows the horse in the open class. This fee does include the youth’s National Point Fee, but it does not include jump, stall or office fee.

For anyone interested in some foundation horses for sale, Marvin and Karen Smyser, long time members of this club, are doing a herd reduction because they are planning on moving down to Arizona. Give them a call at 307-851-1483.
